Henry County, MO – Man Killed, Another Injured in Crash on Rte C Near Clinton

Henry County, MO (November 6, 2025) – A deadly crash claimed the life of a 50-year-old Warrensburg man on November 4, in rural Henry County. The collision happened shortly before 7 p.m. on Route C, just east of Clinton.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 1984 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck was stopped in the eastbound lanes of Route C with its lights off. A Warrensburg man was standing behind the vehicle when an eastbound Toyota Corolla struck him from behind. The impact killed the man and caused the Toyota to crash into the back of the truck.

The 20-year-old man driving the Toyota suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. His vehicle was totaled in the crash.

The victim, a pedestrian from Warrensburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been made public, but officials have notified his next of kin. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the response and investigation.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim, and we hope the injured driver makes a full recovery. Authorities are still investigating what led to the crash.

Pedestrian and Vehicle-Related Fatalities in Henry County

Fatal crashes on rural Missouri roads often involve limited visibility, especially after dark. In this recent tragedy east of Clinton, a combination of nighttime conditions and a vehicle stopped without lights contributed to the deadly outcome. Sadly, these types of incidents are not uncommon on narrow, two-lane roads in areas like Henry County.

When a pedestrian is struck by a moving vehicle, especially on a poorly lit roadway, the chances of survival are slim. Even at moderate speeds, a collision can cause fatal injuries. Missouri law allows surviving family members to pursue justice through a wrongful death claim, which may include compensation for medical expenses, funeral costs, emotional suffering, and the loss of financial support.

Grieving families often face unexpected burdens in the aftermath of a sudden loss. In cases like this, working with a skilled wrongful death attorney can help families understand their rights, hold responsible parties accountable, and begin to find closure through the legal process.
