Festus, MO – Injuries Reported in Semi-Truck Crash on I-55 near US Hwy 67
Festus, MO (November 6, 2025) – Emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck on November 5. The crash occurred around 4:35 a.m. along the northbound lanes of Interstate 55 near US Highway 67 in Festus, Jefferson County.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the semi-truck was following too closely and rear-ended a 2012 Subaru Impreza that had slowed due to heavy traffic. The impact pushed the Subaru into a 2006 Jeep Wrangler ahead of it.
The driver of the Subaru, identified as a 22-year-old man from Bonne Terre, sustained injuries and received medical attention following the crash. Officials have not released further information on his condition. Crews worked quickly to clear the wreckage, and all lanes of northbound I-55 reopened by about 5:30 a.m.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Our thoughts are with the injured driver, and we wish him a full recovery.
Truck Accidents in Festus
Crashes involving commercial trucks, like the one recently reported on I-55 in Festus, can have lasting consequences for those involved. When a truck driver follows too closely or fails to react in time, the results can be severe. Missouri highways, particularly in high-traffic areas like Jefferson County, often see a higher risk of these types of collisions.
Even in cases where injuries are not life-threatening, victims may still face significant challenges. Medical bills, physical therapy, missed work, and emotional distress can take a serious toll. Missouri law allows injured victims to pursue compensation to help cover these expenses and support their recovery. This may include damages for medical costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, and vehicle repair or replacement.
Because truck accident claims often involve multiple parties—such as the truck driver, the trucking company, and their insurance providers—having an experienced legal advocate can make a major difference. A knowledgeable truck accident attorney can guide you through the legal process and work to protect your rights every step of the way.
