Lafayette Co., MO (November 16, 2025) - A tragic motorcycle crash claimed the life of a passenger on Friday afternoon in Lafayette County. Authorities report the incident occurred on Route PP at Panther Creek Rd involving a Subaru Outback and a Honda GL-1200 motorcycle.
Officials say the motorcycle, operated by a 68-year-old man from Knob Noster, was eastbound and appeared to attempt to pass the SUV as it made a left-hand turn. The motorcycle struck the driver’s side door and veered off the left side of the road. Emergency responders pronounced the 62-year-old female passenger on the motorcycle dead at the scene. The driver was airlifted to Research Hospital with serious injuries.
The SUV, driven by 59-year-old Jimmy P. Peavy from Portland, Oregon, initially left the scene. Peavy has since been taken into custody and is being held pending formal charges in Lafayette County.
