Motorcycle Accidents in Kansas City, Missouri
Motorcycle crashes in Kansas City are often severe due to the limited protection motorcycles offer riders. When larger vehicles are involved, such as passenger cars making turns or changing lanes, the risk of fatal injuries increases significantly.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that motorcycle fatalities remain a serious concern throughout the state. In 2023 alone, Missouri saw more than 100 fatal motorcycle crashes. Many of these accidents occur at intersections or during left-hand turns, often due to drivers failing to yield or properly judge a motorcyclist’s speed and distance.
In crashes like the one near the Ford Claycomo plant, motorcyclists have little chance of avoiding serious harm when struck during a turn. Common injuries include traumatic brain injuries, spinal damage, and internal bleeding—many of which prove fatal at the scene.
For families who lose a loved one in a motorcycle crash, the emotional and financial toll can be overwhelming. A wrongful death lawyer can help determine if the crash was caused by negligence, such as failure to yield or distracted driving. If so, the family may be able to recover compensation for funeral expenses, lost income, and emotional suffering.
