Kansas City, MO – Driver Critically Injured After Speeding Truck Crash on Broadway Blvd

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Nov. 11, 2025) — One person was critically injured early Monday morning following a high-speed crash involving a pickup truck in Kansas City’s Valentine neighborhood, police said.

According to the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD), officers were dispatched to the intersection of Valentine Road and Broadway Boulevard after receiving reports of a serious multi-vehicle collision. When officers arrived, they found a brown sedan with significant damage and a black pickup truck that had also struck a parked vehicle nearby.

Investigators said the pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided with the sedan, which was attempting to make a turn. Authorities also reported that the occupants of the pickup truck fled the scene after the crash.

Emergency responders provided immediate aid to the driver of the brown sedan, who was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. The driver’s identity has not yet been released.

This remains an active investigation, and no charges have been announced at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured driver, and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.

Hit-and-Run Crashes in Kansas City and Legal Help

Reckless and high-speed driving continues to endanger lives across Kansas City, with serious crashes frequently leading to catastrophic injuries or fatalities. High-speed impacts dramatically increase the risk of severe trauma, including traumatic brain injuries, internal organ damage, fractures, and spinal cord injuries. Survivors often endure lengthy hospital stays, multiple surgeries, and months or even years of physical therapy. Beyond the physical toll, the emotional strain and financial burden, stemming from lost wages, medical bills, and vehicle repairs, can be overwhelming for victims and their families.

When a driver flees the scene, as often happens in high-speed collisions, victims are left facing even greater uncertainty and frustration. In these cases, it can feel as though justice is out of reach. However, under Missouri law, injured individuals may still pursue compensation through insurance claims such as uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage, even when the responsible driver cannot be immediately identified.

A knowledgeable Kansas City vehicle accident attorney can play a crucial role in this process. From collecting crash scene evidence and securing surveillance footage to obtaining police reports and working with accident reconstruction experts, an attorney ensures that no detail is overlooked. They can also handle communications with insurance companies, advocating for full and fair compensation for medical expenses, rehabilitation, lost income, and pain and suffering.
